PULLMAN, WASH – WSU has had a guest writer series available online throughout the entire semester. These involve guest lectures from novelists, Pulitzer Prize winners, and poets.
“One of the best things about the writing series is the wide variety of writers,” said Karen Weatherman, a supporter and assistant in helping the advancement of the writer series.
The series has shown through guest lectures and Q&AN talks, that engagement on artistic pursuits is an essential in exploring different art forms.
“The goal of this series is to try and connect WSU students to a series of different readings and lectures,” said Cameron Mcgill, a freshman English teacher and author that helps run the series.
The series involves youtube live events that highlight different aspects of creative writing, and the overarching goal of trying to have students connect with the written word.
“This series works to support creative arts in the communities where we live and work,” said Mcgill. “I hope to provide in the Northwest with a reading series that sees writers at the top of their respective fields.”
