WINTERFEST 2022

PULLMAN, WASH -Moscow Chamber of Commerce seems to be hosting an event in each season. Last fall they put on the first annual Moscowberfest. And this winter season they decided to host an 80’s ski party for Winterfest. 

Similar to their previous event the community got to gather for this party in the recently identified entertainment district that allows everyone to walk around and party freely with their open container, instead of being confined to one space, such as a beer garden.

Instead of German sausages and other German themed food and games for Moscowberfest, this 80’s ski party had plenty of warm and hearty food options that you would want this season. Warm chili and cornbread, or some spiked hot chocolate for attendees of age.

A handful of brewing companies returned alongside new vendors that weren’t’ at Moscowberfest.

Main street was packed but this time with a theme that is perfect for the Palouse. For Moscowberfest we saw people attend this event but not necessarily dress up. For Winterfest everyone brought out their snow gear and enjoyed this 80’s party.

While people were partying down the block the DJ was playing everyone’s favorite 80’s jams.

“The music was absolutely amazing!” Josh Bailey said.

“It was a well organized event, it was great to see everyone out and the weather could not have been any better. It’s nice to have this gathering of community and friends coming together in the middle of winter at a time where I think we all really need it,” Joel Schwartekopf said.

Off to the side you could find games and challenges to participate in. Then, in the middle of the event a lip sync battle went on. With the winning song of ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’, by Whitney Houston. 

“I won the lip sync contest with my beautiful, creative partner Penelope. It was fantastic!” Andrea Williams said. 

“I loved it, it was great,” Josh Conley said.

To capture the memories, multiple photo booths were up for everyone to use!
